IMMUNITY
I want you to imagine a virus, it's slowly moving towards you and, oh it's in your body now. Don't worry your nose hairs ear wax or eyelashes will at least try to stop the virus, but it's a virus so on it goes, into your veins. here your lymphocytes, one of the five types of red blood cells, is doing its job detecting then killing invading organisms. There are two types of lymphocytes T and B there are actually three types of T cells killer T cells, helper T cells, and memory T cells. after the killer T cell kills the virus your helper T cell helps the B cell develop new antibodies to fight the virus. If the virus invades your body again your memory T cells recognize the virus and take over, they instruct the killer T cells on how to fight the virus so that the body doesn't waste time trying to figure out a way to kill it or if they should not.
this is the same process your body goes through when you get a vaccine. A vaccine is a small dosage of a disease, so when it is introduced to your body your you develop antibodies so that you can fight the real thing when it infects you.
I would like to end with a quote by Bill Bryson who wrote the book The Body from where a lot of this information was sourced "The wonder isn't that we get sick sometimes but that we are not sick far more often"

TODAY'S TOPIC: Nutrition
No, I'm not here to give you a lecture about the amounts of carbohydrates or proteins you should be eating I'm just here to advise you on what kinds of snacks you should be eating like sandwiches instead of chips and homemade smoothies instead of store-bought ones and milkshakes instead of sodas. It is okay to eat junk but if you do you need to balance it out by eating more healthy food too.

and a couch...

and a man with a pitchfork [you can guess what happened next]...
